Thinking about Running for Election? Join our information session!

On Tuesday April 28, the COO will hold a webinar from 12:15 to 1:00 to share information about the election process and what it means to be a Board Member. You will have the chance to hear first hand from Board Member and have your questions answered in real time. Click here to register.

2026 Board elections are just around the corner. This year, for the first time, eligible opticians can run and vote from anywhere in the province, as geographic districts have been replaced with a single all-Ontario district.

In 2026, the College will be seeking to fill 3 seats on the board for terms that will begin January 1, 2027. This is a great opportunity to become more involved in the regulation of the profession.

Board Directors say that participating in self-regulation and protecting the public is a rewarding experience that provides professional growth and personal development. If you are a registered optician interested in using your knowledge and skills in the interest of public protection, consider seeking a nomination. Visit the website for more information.
