Reminder: Professional Portfolio due December 31, 2022
2022 Professional Portfolio Requirements
- Competency Self-Assessment
- Professional Development including: 4 accredited Contact Lens (CL) Hours, 4 accredited Eyeglass (EG) Hours, 4 accredited Professional Growth (PG) Hours, 4 non-accredited, self-directed Hours. *Opticians with refracting status are required to complete 2 additional accredited continuing education hours specific to refraction.
- Jurisprudence - Chapter 1: Professional Boundaries and Sexual Abuse Prevention must be completed within 12 months of registration and then once every 3 years. You can verify when you last completed this by selecting the "Jurisprudence Tool" in the Jurisprudence section of your online portfolio and, reviewing your test dashboard.

Portfolio Related Fees
Late Fee: $50 + HST – Registrants who do not complete all components of their professional portfolio online by the deadline of December 31, 2022, will be charged a late fee.
Deficient Fee: $100 + HST – Registrants who are found to be deficient in accredited continuing education hours will be charged a deficient fee.
