2026 Board Election

This fall, Registrants will vote to elect Registered Opticians to the COO’s Board of Directors. Voting will open in the Registrant Portal on September 10 and close on September 24.
 
There are three openings on the Board this year. The candidates for the 2026 Board Election are:

•    Melissa Campbell
•    Sophie Elias
•    Paul Imola
•    Stephanie Kelly
•    Golta Mohammadi
•    Robert Quinn
•    Khaldoon Thabet
 
 
Candidate profiles are now available in the Registrant Portal. We encourage all Registrants to log in and learn more about the candidates ahead of the voting period. Once you log in to the portal, scroll down to the bottom and select the 2026 Board Election tab to view candidate information.
 
For the first time this year, geographic districts have been removed, and all candidates are running in a single province-wide district. This means that when the election opens, eligible voters will be able to cast votes for up to three candidates, regardless of where you (or the candidate) live in Ontario.
